I received my B.Eng. in 2007 and M.Sc. (with distinction) degree in 2008 from University of Liverpool in Electrical Engineering and Electronics. I continued my studies as PhD candidate at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute, Athens in collaboration with University of Patras and received my Ph.D. in Optics/Optoelectronics in July 2013. My main research activities are broad within the field of photonics and particularly in multimaterial fiber optics for the development of novel optoelectronic smart devices. I have worked with several distinguished research groups in USA and Europe including the Multi-material Optical Fiber Devices Group in College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL), USA and Mid-Infrared Photonics Group in the University of Nottingham, UK.
I hold the position of Associate Professor in the Fiber Sensors and Supercontinuum Group at DTU Fotonik, Denmark and Head of the Glass Draw Tower Fiber Farbication, Extrusion and Glass Laboratory. I am also a co-founder of NORBLIS Ivs and a member of OSA, SPIE, IEEE societies.
